While interning as a sales assistant at the CW28, I had the opportunity to apply a wide variety of existing skills learned in relevant courses and gain valuable experience and knowledge within a  career field I was unfamilar with.

Interning with a company that relies a lot on sales and relationships to meet quarterly goals, I was very excited to learn about a field which I previously had no experience in. My goal throughout this internship was to learn as much as possible to allow me to better decide what career path I should focus on upon graduation. I was able to take on many projects assigned by my supervisor but also gained the knowledge and took the initiative to update and create other sales tools. Through working closely with the Local Sales Manager and the Account Executives I was quickly able to learn the stations programs to input orders and databases for pulling helpful clientele information. This opportunity has given me much more confidence in myself within a professional environment and I have also been given great advice from colleagues that I know will help me with my future career choices.

My most significant accomplishment for me while working at the CW28 would be that I have gained more confidence in myself as a professional but also gained knowledge about what my career will be. I am grateful that throughout this internship I have been praised for my dedication and work ethic, and although it is something I was previously proud of, I now know that other people have taken notice and can see it as well.  The two moments of this that have really solidified this are, one, when my supervisor and the general manager of the station personally thanked me for a project I completed without them asking me to do so.  The second moment would have to be when my supervisor and the GM asked me to apply to a new position being created.  This moment has been the highly of my internship because it is further evidence that I have done a great job and give me confidence as a professional and to move on with my future career plans.
